• Working with Caterlink

  This week, we were visited by Chef Paris who works with Caterlink and gave children in Year 3 & 4 a chance to create and make their own individual pizzas. The children had a great time and some pizzas did not make it home!

  

• Easter Production

  The Easter story was told clearly and with great enthusiasm by Year 3 & 4. It was a joy to watch.

  Year 3 & 4 have been practicing their Easter Production and will be sharing the Easter story with the school and their parents next week.

  We wore red and donated a £1 each to support Red Nose day. We raised £130.

  Year 2 led our Collective Worship and their parents were also invited.

  Subomi Ojo was our visitor in February.

  Subomi  told us that he had wanted to be a doctor when he was younger. He got accepted into medical school but then realised that he had other interests. He had taken part in an internship when he was a teenager and that had given him an interest in finances.

  Subomi now works for Citibank and earns a high salary and also gets bonuses. He enjoys his job but it can be hard work. Subomi prayed for the community of St. Mark’s.

• Parents Open Afternoon

  We had a great open afternoon after parents were invited to come to school and join classes. There were a range of subjects being taught before parents gathered in the hall to learn how RE is now being taught at St. Mark's. We shared the three strands of Living, Believing and Thinking before parents were served snacks and drinks by their children. This afternoon was so popular, we are going to build more into the school calendar.

  

• Grandparents Open Afternoon:

  We had our first Grandparents Open afternoon on Wednesday. More than 20 Grandparents came to see their grandchildren in class before being served snacks and drinks in the hall. It was lovely to see so many grandchildren looking after their grandparents in the hall and making sure they were well fed and cared for, Next week, it will be the parents turn!
