Heavenly Father please help me to:

  • Respect others and rejoice in their achievements.
  • Endeavour to learn something new every day.
  • Accept and celebrate the differences in others.
  • Continuously rise to every challenge.
  • Honestly reflect on my own actions.
  • In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

Our team this year is Ms Perry, Mrs Zulu and Ms Williams.

Please look at the medium-term plan below to find out what the children will be learning this half term. We teach English through a variety of texts, in order to enrich children's language acquisition, which will enhance their oracy, writing and reading development. In order to consolidate the children's learning, we organise interesting visits throughout the academic year.

Children will receive home learning tasks for Maths and English every week, in order to prepare them for their National Curriculum Assessments in the summer term. Children also receive spellings to learn and are tested weekly.

In Year 6, children are expected to be excellent role models for all the pupils at St Mark's. We also encourage children to develop independence and responsibility, as part of their preparation for transition to high school.

We look forward to an exciting year!
