Welcome to Year 5!

Our team this year is Ms Leonard and Ms Owusu.

Please look at the medium-term plan below to determine what the children will learn this half term. We teach English through various texts to enrich children's language acquisition, which will enhance their oracy, writing and reading development. To consolidate the children's learning, we organise exciting visits throughout the academic year.

Children will receive home learning tasks for Maths and English every week, to support their learning in the classroom. Children also receive spellings to learn and are tested weekly.

In order to make the Year 5 curriculum more relevant and exciting for the children, it is delivered through a literacy-rich medium, using texts which are linked to our learning in other subject areas, for example, history or geography.
