Heavenly Father please help me to:

  • Respect others and rejoice in their achievements.
  • Endeavour to learn something new every day.
  • Accept and celebrate the differences in others.
  • Continuously rise to every challenge.
  • Honestly reflect on my own actions.
  • In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

SEND

'Leaders make sure that pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have their needs identified quickly and accurately. Teachers adapt their approach in lessons so that these pupils can access the same curriculum as their peers. Leaders make sure that pupils with SEND receive the support outlined in their individual plans.'

OFSTED, March 2023

At St Mark’s Primary Academy we are committed to adopting an inclusive approach to meeting the needs of all pupils including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We strive to create a sense of community and belonging for all our pupils. We have an inclusive ethos, which is underpinned by our Christian values and high expectations, suitable targets, and a broad, balanced curriculum for all children.

This is teamed with systems for the early identification of barriers to learning and participation.

We are strongly committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND pupils. This may include short-term intervention learning programmes after school skills groups and other learning interventions developed to personalise learning.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) is Ms Lines.

Please make an appointment with your child's class teacher or directly with Ms Lines if you have any concerns about your child's progress.
