Welcome to Year 1!

Our team this year is Ms Lewis, Ms Huda and Ms Alleyne.

The children are becoming more independent this year and will have fun exploring within their learning environment.

We use the Read Write Inc phonics scheme to help the children with reading & writing. Also, we use maths mastery strategies to ensure learning is as practical as possible, which helps to scaffold the children’s education.  We will have a topic each half-term where the children have the opportunity to complete cross-curricular writing. 

Please encourage your child to read every night, learn their spellings and make sure to visit Numbots at least once a week.
